Help me out- am I reading this right? Freinds or More?

I met this guy a few weeks ago - he suggested we stay in contact by email a week latter I emailed him checking in and he mentioned he was gathering friends for a night out and would invite me. I got a broadcast email a few days latter inviting me and many others. I went had fun w his friends but was not clingy or hanging around just him. I felt he invited me as a friend so I mingled etc. I saw him at an event last week we chatted more flirted a little and then talked about trying to do something in latter in the week. As before he was a little flirty. I emailed him about doing something Tues ,but he was busy an said Fri he was going out w friends for a big happy hour but if i wanted to join i was welcome. A day latter i got a broadcast invite he forwarded me with the info. My take is he thinks I am a cool chic to add to his gang of freinds but not date material. Help me out- am I reading this right?
